The vision for Hip Hop in the Park was given to Pastor Brian Gilbert from God out of Acts 17:22 – 34 Here we see Paul was in a place where there was a lot of worship given to different gods. Paul did not come to them and start smashing their idols and altars, but God had anointed him to go amid that culture and speak the gospel to them. Not only that, but He used the culture (i.e. the altar to the unknown god) to proclaim the gospel to them.
 
Gods desire is not to do away with culture but to redeem culture. We believe that Hip Hop submitted to Jesus Christ is a dynamic tool for the sake of the Gospel of Christ
